Carl Lewis says he has been offered $6 million to race Ben Johnson, according to a report aired on Canadian television’s CTV News.

Lewis and Johnson last met in the 100 meters in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, where Johnson appeared to have captured the gold medal in a record time of 9.79 seconds and Lewis finished second in 9.92. However, Johnson was later stripped of his gold medal and world record for steroid use and Lewis was declared the winner.

Johnson has been suspended from competition by Canadian and international track officials. His two-year suspension by the International Amateur Athletics Federation expires in late September.
