Jewish Faith Theme of Father’s Day Program
“Rationalizing a Need for the Future of Our Faith: Imparting It to Our Children--Taking Part in It as Adults,” is the theme of a Father’s Day Celebration Sunday sponsored by Beth Jacob Congregation from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Irvine Marriott, 18000 Von Karman Ave., Irvine. Feature speaker will be Dennis Prager, KABC talk show host of “Religion on the Line.” Prager’s talk will relate to issues of intermarriages, Jewish identity and making the case for leading a Jewish life. Prager is co-author of several books and publishes “Ultimate Issues,” a quarterly report applying the insight of Judaism to the issues of our times. Tickets are available at $30. “Parents and Teens Together” is the title of a series to be held at St. Irenaeus Church on Thursdays, this week through July 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The program is designed to give parents and teens the opportunity to know, love and respect each other through learning practical interpersonal skills. The program, costing $20 per teen and one adult, is being held in the education building of the church at 5201 Evergreen Ave., Cypress.
