2 From Caltech Named as Fellows of National Academy

Thomas E. Everhart, president of Caltech, and Daniel J. Kevles, Koepfli professor of the humanities and faculty vice chairman at Caltech, have been elected fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The academy, founded in 1780, recognizes leading figures in the arts, letters, sciences and public life.

Everhart, president of Caltech since 1987, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Kevles is the author of studies of the history of science in the 19th and 20th centuries.
