* Waterloo, the Re-enactment: With cannons roaring, 2,300 men re-enacted the Battle of Waterloo to mark its 175th anniversary. “Soldiers” representing France, Britain and Prussia “clashed” Sunday in Waterloo, Belgium, where Napoleon was defeated on June 18, 1815. The original battle made the term Waterloo synonymous with disaster.

* Future Plans: The 23-year-old Panamanian first lady said she wants to be the first female president of Panama. Ana Mae Diaz de Endara accompanied President Guillermo Endara, 51, to the recent Central American summit in Guatemala. “I’m not going to lie. The truth is that yes, I would like to do that . . . . We women are equal to men. I believe that women have more fighting spirit,” she said. But she added her husband is “the type of man who opens up the door for a lady and sits her at the table.”

* Last-Minute Booking: A collection of speeches by Nelson Mandela since his release from prison has been published just before the deputy president of the African National Congress arrives in the United States. “Intensify the Struggle to Abolish Apartheid” by Pathfinder publishers salutes Mandela’s “historic tour of North America,” editorial director Steve Clark said Saturday in New York. Mandela arrives Wednesday in New York to begin a 10-day U.S. tour.

* Ivana Shops: While real estate mogul Donald Trump struggles to hold his empire together, his estranged wife, Ivana, jetted to London to attend a posh antiques fair over the weekend. The Sunday Mail said Ivana visited one of London’s most expensive antiques fairs but did not spring for any of the items at Grosvenor House. “I just came because I love antiques. I’m not staying long,” she said before being whisked away in a blue Rolls-Royce.
