Fund-Raiser to Honor Latina Journalists

Maclovio Perez of KCBS Channel 2 will host the Comision Femenil de Los Angeles’ annual fund-raising banquet tonight at 6:30 in the Biltmore Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom. Six Latina journalists are to be honored for their professional and volunteer contributions.

The honorees are Carla Aragon, KNBC Channel 4 morning news anchor; Marita Hernandez, Los Angeles Times staff writer; Monica Lozano, La Opinion associate publisher; Maria Elena Salinas, Univision network news anchor; Analia Sarno Riggle, KTLA Channel 5 news simulcast interpreter; and Rose Marie Soto, Eastern Group Publications features editor.

The proceeds from the dinner will go toward the CFLA’s education and scholarship programs for young Latinas. The CFLA is a nonprofit, community-based organization that has been working for Latina advancement and achievement since 1972.
