Ministers Will Open AIDS Education Week

AIDS Education Week, sponsored by the Dionne Warwick Foundation, will begin Monday with a ministers conference on AIDS at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, organizers said.

The conference will focus on creating a healthy response to the AIDS crisis within the church environment. More than 75 Los Angeles-area ministers are expected to participate in the conference, which runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The rest of the week will feature workshops at various locations on how AIDS is spread, an AIDS legislative update for health care professionals, a “rap” opera on AIDS and several other programs.
