Mike Stulce, two-time NCAA shotput champion from Texas A&M;, has been suspended for two years after tests showed him to have a testosterone level higher than the legal limit, The Athletics Congress announced.

TAC, the governing body of U.S. track and field, said Stulce would appeal the decision.

The male hormone testosterone has a tissue-building effect on the muscles.

TAC also announced that Olympian Larry Myricks had tested positive for Phenylpropanolamine, a decongestant that is found in cold-relief products, at two European meets this year. Myricks is serving a three-month sentence for using the banned substance during the U.S. indoor season.

Myricks, who said he took the medicine to combat a cold, faces a possible lifetime suspension.
