WORLD IN BRIEF : EL SALVADOR : Warrant Issued for Officer in Jesuit Case
An arrest warrant was issued for an army officer accused of destroying evidence in the November massacre of six Jesuit priests, their cook and her daughter in San Salvador. Lt. Col. Carlos Camilo Hernandez was accused of destroying the mission logs of the eight officers and soldiers charged in the killings. Camilo Hernandez was at the time of the killings the assistant director of the military college where the accused troops were stationed. The director of the college is one of the three officers charged with murder.
