UPS Talks Break Down: Talks have broken down between United Parcel Service and its union on a three-year contract, but the company’s 141,000 workers will still vote next month on its final offer, a published report said. The union is demanding an increase of $1 per hour in each year of the contract. UPS is offering 50 cents per hour. Drivers currently earn $16.24 per hour. The union wants pension and health benefit increases of $14 per week and UPS is offering $6 weekly. UPS also wants a more flexible work week, including weekend and early shifts.
