The “green cards” issued to aliens living in the United States will henceforth be made in France, a French company announced today.

Thomson-CSF, a major manufacturer of military equipment, said it has been selected by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service to produce a new generation of resident alien permits, commonly known as green cards.

The new cards will include a color ID photo, fingerprints and signature.
