Re “Will the Good Times Always Roll?” by Nina J. Easton, July 8:

Writers! Just ‘cause they know what a gerund is, they think they oughta be paid millions for it! What a racket!

I’m glad youse guys in da media changed your ways. When da actors and directors and producer guys was gettin’ paid all them millions, you guys put ‘em on the “Lifestyles of da Rich ‘n’ Famous,” but since them no-account writers start gettin’ paid like that, youse guys tell it like it is.

Like that lawyer guy, Peter Dekom, said in the article, “You can’t go on paying $3 million to writers and $15 million to actors. . . .” He’s right! Hey, to me, Schwarzenegger’s worth the 15--but 3 mil for a writer? Let’s see one o’ them get their eyeballs all blown out on Mars! Like everybody’d be outta work without them or somethin’? Hah!

I say we oughta can the bunch o’ them and start makin’ movies the old-fashioned way. My Uncle Eddie’s got a barn in Joisy, and if some of youse guys bring a camera and some actors we can make a serious movie!
