Advanced Micro Devices: The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based computer chip maker said it suffered a $5.9-million loss in the second quarter, contrasted with a $12.1-million profit a year ago. Revenue fell 2.9% to $267.7 million. The company said the results reflect price cuts brought on by stiff industry competition.
