From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Searchers found the wreckage of a missing Israeli air force plane on the western slopes of the Golan Heights, near the Syrian border, along with the body of the reservist captain who stole the craft, the army said. The discovery ended a massive search, launched a week ago after the twin-engine Dornier 28 was stolen from an air base in central Israel by Hagai Morry, 33. There had been speculation that Morry might have defected to a neighboring Arab country. But Maj. Gen. Avihu Ben-Nun, the air force commander, said he believes that Morry intended to commit suicide by crashing his plane. Officials said earlier they believed Morry had personal problems.
