Developing Vacant Land in Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach

Regarding the article on canyons (“Battle Cry Echoes in Canyons,” June 23) and specifically Diane Gaynor, spokeswoman for the Santa Margarita Co.: It is always so amusing to read an article on the current debate in Southern California--to build or not to build with the developers always declaring the best interests of society being their purpose, i.e., providing affordable housing for the masses.

Problem is, are they also providing an infrastructure and adequate school facilities to support the affordable households? Nope. Remember Proposition 111?

So when Ms. Gaynor asks: “Where are all the teachers going to live?” I chuckle and wonder--Where are all the kids going to “live”? Where are all the cars going to “live”? And, by the way, where are all the developers going to live?

Yeah, I know, in the canyons with all the professionals and artists.
