Dataproducts Accused of Misleading Investors: A class-action suit filed Wednesday accuses the Woodland Hills-based firm of misleading investors by falsely portraying its prospects before its stock plunged last fall. The suit, in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, was brought by Nadeem Farugi on behalf of those who bought stock between May 3, 1988, and Sept. 7, 1989. The suit alleges that the computer printer manufacturer issued a series of statements indicating that it was prosperous when, in fact, it was beset with marketing and technical problems.
