Alpharel of Camarillo, a struggling maker of data storage devices, said it narrowed its loss to $77,000 in the second quarter that ended June 30, while revenues increased 15% to $1.32 million. In the year-earlier quarter, the company lost $2.48 million on revenues of $1.14 million.

For the six months that ended in June, Alpharel lost $390,000, contrasted with a $4.67 million loss in 1989’s first half. Revenues edged up 3% to $2.42 million from $2.36 million.

Alpharel said it trimmed its losses in the latest periods by a sale to AT&T; of a license to certain technology, resolving a longstanding dispute between the two companies, and by lowering costs.
