Law Firms to Vote on Merger: Partners of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, a San Francisco-based firm with 454 attorneys in six California cities and Washington, and Lillick & McHose, with 171 lawyers in Los Angeles and San Diego, will vote today on whether to merge. Results will be announced Monday in Los Angeles and San Francisco. If approved, the union would create the largest law firm in California in terms of the number of lawyers. A source at one firm said the merger would be for “strategic reasons.” Pillsbury, Madison is looking to expand its business in both the Pacific Rim and Southern California.
