DANA POINT : Council OKs Grants to 4 Social Agencies
The City Council has approved $21,900 in grants for four social service agencies in South County.
San Juan Capistrano’s South County Community Clinic will get $10,000, the largest amount. The Sober Living Center, an alcohol rehabilitation program with three locations in Dana Point, will receive $5,000.
Casa del Cerro, a substance-abuse counseling service in Dana Point, will receive $3,300, and $3,600 will go to the South Orange County Community Services Council, which has offices in San Clemente and Mission Viejo and makes referrals to social service agencies.
The grants were awarded out of a total of eight applicants requesting $61,539.
The City Council has budgeted $50,000 this year for human services groups. The remainder of the money will be awarded in September.
