L.A. VS. ORANGE COUNTY

After having lived in Los Angeles for 50 years and Orange County for 12 years, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that there is nowhere left to run and hide.

We left Los Angeles because it had become the pits--crime, smog, traffic congestion, a city in decay.

As for Orange County, while it might be cleaner, it is the cleanliness of snobbery and class distinction. Developers have run rampant over the landscape, tearing down hills, trees and anything else that gets in the way. For the most part, it is a cultural wasteland, although, I must admit, it is getting better, especially for those with money. I predict that, sooner or later, Orange County will be confronted with the same problems as Los Angeles County. Then, my friends, where, oh where, is nirvana?
