Trader to Pay $475,000: Former Wall Street trader Salim B. (Sandy) Lewis agreed to pay $475,000 to settle a Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit arising from his guilty plea to criminal stock manipulation charges. The SEC suit alleged Lewis violated securities laws by helping to manipulate the price of Fireman’s Fund Corp. stock in 1986--the same accusations to which he pleaded guilty in a criminal proceeding. The $475,000 will go into a fund for victims of the scheme.
