PacifiCare Health Systems Inc.: The Cypress owner and operator of health maintenance organizations said its third-quarter net income rose 36% to $4.9 million from $3.6 million for the comparable period last year, Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 increased 40% to $251.9 million from $179.7 million. For the first nine months of fiscal 1990, net income was up 72% to $11.7 million from $6.8 million. Revenue rose 53% to $703.0 million from $459.7 million. The 1990 results include a $1.8-million gain from the company’s sale of its Austin, Tex., operations, which was reported during the first quarter.
