A Real Money-Back Guarantee: In a bid to spur sales of its Passat model, above, Volkswagen United States Inc. announced an offer to refund the full price of the car to dissatisfied owners within 30 days or 3,000 miles of purchase. The program, which runs from Aug. 10 through the end of October on all 1990 and 1991 Passats, makes the West German auto maker the first to offer a money-back guarantee on a new car purchase. Other buyer satisfaction programs have offered 30-day exchange policies only.
