Easy Cake for Children to Make

This easy-to-make cocoa cake is a good recipe to use to introduce children to the fun of baking.

LICKITY SPLIT COCOA CAKE

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup cocoa

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup water

6 tablespoons oil

1 tablespoon vineger

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt. Add water, oil, vineger and vanilla and stir just until batter is smooth and well blended. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch layer cake pan or 8-inch square pan.

Bake at 350 degrees 35 to 40 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. Dust with powdered sugar. Makes 9 servings.
