South Pasadena : Leaf-Blower Forum Planned
- Share via
Spurred by numerous complaints about the noise and pollution created by gas-powered leaf blowers, the City Council agreed last week to sponsor a public forum to discuss the issue.
Councilman James Hodges said the workshop should encourage public comment, not begin a drive to limit or ban use of the leaf blowers.
Councilman Dick Richards said gardeners might waste precious water hosing down driveways and sidewalks if the gas-powered devices are restricted. “There aren’t too many alternatives,” he said.
When the time and place of the forum are decided, city officials will notify residents through an enclosure with their water bills.
