A judge Wednesday ordered a Pasadena woman not to harass KNBC-TV weatherman Christopher Nance after he complained that the woman has stalked him for at least four years, sending him love letters and breaking into his Northridge house last month.

San Fernando Municipal Court Commissioner Marguerite McKinney ordered Angie Marie, 28, not to have any contact with Nance and his girlfriend, Lisa Gibson, and to stay at least 100 yards from Nance’s house and office.

The order, which is permanent, replaces a temporary restraining order issued against Marie July 16, four days after she allegedly broke into Nance’s house. Marie denied breaking into the residence, saying she had been invited there by Nance and that he beat her after she threatened to tell Gibson about what she said was a relationship with him.

Nance denied beating Marie, who said she reported the alleged beating to police. No charges were filed, court records show.

Nance, 36, said he had never dated Marie, who described herself as an office manager and property manager. But Marie testified that she had an “on-and-off, very sporadic” relationship with the forecaster for about five years. She said the two met at a film directing workshop in Studio City and became romantically involved.

“I’m not a fan of Christopher Nance,” Marie said after Wednesday’s ruling. “I am a friend, a lover, but not a fan.”

Nance said outside court Wednesday that the relationship was a figment of Marie’s imagination. His attorney, Richard A. Stilz, said Marie followed Nance home from work to find out where he lived and asked an acquaintance of Nance’s for his phone number.

Gibson, who lives with him at his Northridge house, said Nance had received at least 100 love letters from Marie since 1986.

McKinney, however, said, “The evidence is totally at odds with Mr. Nance’s claim that he never had even a social relationship with Miss Marie.”

But, the jurist said, “It does appear that at some time Ms. Gibson did arrive on the scene. Since the time of her arrival, she and Mr. Nance engaged in a personal relationship.”

However, he said, Marie “apparently called and spoke to Ms. Gibson for one purpose, and that purpose was to estrange Ms. Gibson from Mr. Nance.”

Nance, a former stand-up comedian, was hired by KNBC in June, 1985.
