JURGENS’ SENTENCE

Share

Nowhere in Joyce Johnson’s review of “A Death in White Bear Lake” (by Barry Siegel; July 22) does it tell what sentence (if any) Lois Jurgens received. She was found guilty of third-degree murder (of adopted son Dennis, 3). . . . She and her husband deserved three years of the same kind of torture they meted out, but knowing the law, they probably got a tap on the wrist. What did happen?

Editor’s note: Lois Jurgens’ sentence was set at eight years, to assure that she would be 70 before her release from prison.
