Los Angeles Firm Buys Wholesaler: Leonard Green & Partners announced a $300-million deal to purchase Alaska’s largest food and drug wholesaler, Anchorage-based Carr-Gottstein Inc. The firm was acquired from owners L. J. Carr and B. J. Gottstein in conjunction with Carr-Gottstein’s management. Details of the buyout’s financing were not disclosed, except that it contained no junk bonds.
