NATION IN BRIEF : NORTH DAKOTA : 2 Pilots Plead Guilty in Drunk-Flying Case

Two of three former Northwest Airlines pilots convicted in federal court of flying a jetliner while under the influence of alcohol pleaded guilty in Fargo, N.D., to state charges stemming from the incident. Norman Prouse and Robert Kirchner received suspended jail sentences and $1,000 fines. They could have received up to 30 days in jail if convicted. Negotiations continued for the third defendant, Joseph Balzer.
