SHORT TAKES : Hope Would Go to Saudi Arabia

HURON, S.D. —
Bob Hope says he’d take a road show to Saudi Arabia to perform for soldiers stationed there if asked .
The 87-year-old comic, who has entertained American troops around the world since World War II, also said at the South Dakota State Fair on Tuesday that he hopes the Persian Gulf crisis is over soon.
“We’ve sent too many wonderful men over there. I don’t want to see any of them hurt,” he said.
