Foothill Thrift Verdict: A Superior Court jury awarded $564,000 to a defunct video surveillance firm that had alleged that Foothill Thrift & Loan in Los Angeles improperly cut off its line of credit and liquidated the firm when it was losing money in 1985. Foothill had extended a line of credit of about $8 million to Videoscope Inc., which sold its equipment to such customers as convenience stores, banks and hotels. Plaintiffs in the case, which included some Videoscope shareholders, had originally sought $25 million. Foothill attorney Howard P. Miller said the thrift believes it acted properly.
