Santa Ana Plant to Close: ITT Cannon’s Components Division plans to close its manufacturing operations at its Deere Avenue plant in Santa Ana by the end of the year and lay off about 75 of its 200 employees there. Layoffs will begin in October, company spokeswoman Suzie Diaz said. The division makes electronic connectors, relays and switches for industrial use. Diaz said the company will transfer the work to other divisions around the world, including a plant in Mexico. Most of the jobs eliminated will be in fabrication operations. Diaz said ITT Cannon is helping the affected employees find jobs with other local companies.
