NEW YORK — A spokesman for Donald Trump today denied that the developer plans to sell the Plaza Hotel in an effort to raise cash.
“Absolutely not. It’s not true,” Norma Foederer, a spokeswoman for the Trump Organization, said of a report in the New York Times. “I don’t know where they got that story.” The newspaper reported that people close to the Trump Organization say Trump is pushing for a sale of the Plaza. The developer would need the cash to meet a Nov. 15 deadline for a $47.3-million interest payment on Taj Mahal casino bonds, the report said.
