From Times staff and Wire reports
U.S.-Vietnamese teams have finished their longest joint search ever for the remains of missing American servicemen, the Vietnam News Agency said in a report monitored in Bangkok, Thailand. U.S. forensic experts examined 70 sets of remains that the Vietnamese said they previously found during their own searches. The Vietnamese agency did not say what the outcome was. The Pentagon lists 2,300 Americans missing from the war that ended in Communist victories in 1975 in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
