Upjohn Co. Selling HealthCare Unit: Olsten Corp., based in Westbury, N.Y., plans to buy Upjohn HealthCare Services Inc., for an undisclosed amount, the two companies announced. The purchase of the Upjohn unit, which had about $182 million in sales last year and accounted for 6% of Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Upjohn’s total sales, will expand Olsten’s presence in the home health-care field. Upjohn HealthCare provides home health care and supplemental staffing to hospitals, nursing homes and in other settings. The sale, which must receive regulatory clearance and legal approval, includes operations in both the United States and Canada.
