Typhoon Batters Taiwan After Hitting Philippines

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Typhoon Dot, packing 105-m.p.h. winds, triggered landslides in Taiwan on Friday after flooding thousands of people from their homes in the Philippines.
Police said at least two people were killed. The typhoon was expected to sweep past Taiwan today and move toward China’s Fujian province.
