To correct the misinformation which appeared in your Sept. 4 article on me (“Gossip Journalist Finds Himself at Center of Saga”), I am not now, nor have I ever been a “gossip journalist.” In fact, I believe those two terms are mutually exclusive. I am, in fact, an investigative journalist and critic who was conducting an undercover investigation of the gossip media; i.e., the tabloids. Other than that bit of sloppiness (which was the fault, no doubt, of your headline writer and not the author of the piece), I would like to say that the article was about as fair and unbiased as one might hope to expect in The Times. I would like to congratulate the author, David Ferrell, on a job well-done.
