When quarterback Tommy Maddox threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Reggie Moore in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Stanford, it was the Bruins’ first second-half touchdown pass since their game against California on Sept. 30, 1989. Moreover, it was also UCLA’s first second-half touchdown of any kind since the Oregon State game on Oct. 21, 1989.
By getting 32 points against Stanford, UCLA stretched its NCAA-record scoring streak to 218 games. The Bruins were last shut out by Michigan, 31-0, at Ann Arbor, Mich., in the third game of the 1971 season.
Their next opponent: Michigan at Ann Arbor Saturday.
