Herbert W. Lamb, a purchasing agent and longtime North Hollywood resident, has died in Burbank. He was 59.

Lamb died Tuesday of a lung disease, said his wife, Mary Margaret Lamb.

Born and raised in Detroit, Mich., Lamb came to California in the early 1950s and worked as a trainee on the purchasing desk of Frey Industrial Supply Co. in Vernon. He returned to his hometown for about five years before settling in California in the early 1960s. He had lived in North Hollywood since 1964.

Lamb worked for various industrial supply companies in Los Angeles, including Garrett Industrial Supply Co., where he was employed for 16 years until his health disabled him two years ago.
