U.S. General May Be Terrorists’ Target
An attempt to kidnap or kill a U.S. general working at NATO headquarters in Brussels failed after three men broke into his house only to find he was away on vacation, sources close to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization said Wednesday.
“There was an incident on the evening of Sept. 25 at the residence of a senior U.S. military officer assigned to NATO,” a spokesman at the U.S. Embassy said. Other sources said the man was a one-star general. “This was an attempt to kidnap or kill him, we don’t know which,” one source said.
