Only 150 Advisers in Iraq, Soviets Say

MOSCOW —
The Soviet Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that Moscow has 150 military and civilian advisers in Iraq, dismissing higher U.S. estimates.
Senior U.S. defense officials said Tuesday that although there are up to 1,000 Soviet advisers still in Iraq, Moscow is not supplying arms or other military equipment to Iraq.
