Orange County’s per-person household size dropped 2.2% during the 1980s, from 2.78 to 2.72. Around the county, though, some of the declines in various cities were more pronounced--most remarkably the 9% in Irvine. Six cities had an increase, with the 2.9% in San Juan Capistrano being the largest. As of 1990, though, Seal Beach has the lowest person/household ratio (and the only one less than 2.0) and Villa Park the highest, 3.66. Here’s a city-by-city look:
