NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : House Approves Air Terrorist Warnings

The House passed legislation to upgrade security at airlines and airports, including directing the government to develop guidelines for warning passengers of terrorist threats. The bill, approved on a voice vote without dissent, would put into law the reforms recommended in May by a presidential commission that investigated the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
