Policeman Who Shot Motorist Is Lynched

MOSCOW —
An angry mob lynched a 23-year-old policeman in Soviet Mordovia after he fatally shot a drunk driver during a struggle, Pravda reported Thursday.
The officer was killed inside the police station in the town of Dubyonki, about 250 miles southeast of Moscow, after residents blocked entrances to the town and neighboring villages, the Communist Party daily reported.
