Jordan Considers Arming Civilians to Face Israel

AMMAN, Jordan —
Prime Minister Mudar Badran told Parliament on Wednesday that he would consider popular demands to arm civilians to defend Jordan against Israel, Speaker Suleiman Arar said.
Many deputies in the 80-seat Parliament want the government to buy light weapons and train all able-bodied Jordanians.
