Supporting Teachers Sends ‘Good Vibrations’: Mike Love of the Beach Boys says it’s no longer cool to cut class and go surfing. He and the rest of the Beach Boys performed in a benefit concert Saturday that in part will aid Project Teach, which Love founded to help recruit and aid new teachers. “Teaching is the biggest problem confronting society,” Love said at his Santa Barbara home. “Every problem stems from ignorance. The people in the front line of the war against ignorance are teachers, so that whole teaching infrastructure needs to be encouraged, uplifted, bolstered and reinforced.”
