Betty Loraine Gregg; Longtime Lancaster Resident

Betty Loraine Gregg, a longtime Lancaster resident, has died in a Lancaster hospital. She was 70.

Mrs. Gregg died Friday after suffering a stroke, said her husband, Dr. David Gregg.

Born Betty Loraine Weddle on Christmas Day, 1919, in Huntley, Mont., she came to Lancaster in 1963. A mother of four, she and her husband adopted three children and took in another five teen-age foster children, which they helped raise to adulthood.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years; sons David Howard Gregg of Rosamond and Charles Dean Gregg of Fort Irwin, Calif.; daughters Mari Loraine Danihel of Las Vegas, Martha Jodene of Walla Walla, Wash., Debra Suzanne Holder of College Park, Md., Alice Lianne de la Cruz of Palmdale and Lajuana Moser of Lancaster; and 19 grandchildren.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 43824 N. 30th St. West in Lancaster, where Mrs. Gregg was a member. Burial will follow at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster. Halley-Olsen Funeral Chapel in Lancaster is handling the arrangements. Donations can be made in Mrs. Gregg’s name to the Antelope Valley chapter of Liga International, 526 W. Milling St., Lancaster 93534.
