Alaska’s Oil Production at 2-Year High: Alaska’s daily oil production, which has risen on the tail of higher oil prices, hit 2 million barrels a day last Saturday for the first time since 1988, an Alaska state official said. Since the summer--when just 1.6 million barrels were being shipped daily through the trans-Alaska pipeline--output has risen to peak at 2 million barrels. It has remained at about that level ever since, said Dudley Platt, an oil economist for the Alaska Department of Revenue. Tuesday’s output measured 1.98 million barrels.
