World IN BRIEF : MALI : Tuareg Nomads Kill 30 Army Rustlers
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Nomadic Tuaregs wiped out an army detachment that had been stealing their cattle in the deserts of northern Mali and killed 30 soldiers, the Tilalt relief agency reported in Paris. The Tuaregs are herdsmen who roam the deserts of Mali, Algeria, Libya and Niger, paying scant attention to national borders.
