THOUSAND OAKS : Evaluations Sought of Cable TV Service
Thousand Oaks officials are surveying residents about television service before the City Council considers renewing a cable television franchise.
Members of the city’s public access and cable television committees are holding informal meetings at malls and the Thousand Oaks Library in preparation for a Nov. 13 hearing on new cable television franchise agreements.
On Saturday and Nov. 3, a cable television committee member will be at the Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road. Officials will also be at Lucky-Longs Plaza, 2120 Newbury Road in Newbury Park from noon to 4 p.m.
A committee member will also be at the Oaks Mall, 222 W. Hillcrest Drive, from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 10.
Officials will distribute a “Talk Back to Your TV” brochure, which includes a questionnaire about cable television.
Residents are served by Ventura County Cablevision and Falcon Cable TV. The franchise agreements run out in 1991.
The city runs its own station for government programming, TOTV, on Channel 10. The city’s public access station is Channel 8.
