A settlement has been reached in the $6.9-million lawsuit former University of Kentucky assistant basketball coach Dwane Casey filed against Emery Air Freight, Casey’s lawyer said.

Casey described the settlement in an interview with WKYT-TV in Lexington as “healthy.”

“I’ll be comfortable for a long, long time,” he said.

Casey sued Emery over its handling of an envelope that allegedly popped open at an Emery terminal in Los Angeles. Emery employees have said they discovered $1,000 in cash and a videotape inside the envelope, which had been sent to the father of Kentucky basketball recruit Chris Mills. The envelope bore Casey’s name where the return address was listed.
